Individual Therapy

Therapy can be a powerful tool for coping with the stresses of life. I often describe therapy like having a special ally to help you look at your life from new perspectives to help you figure out how to navigate with more ease. It can be daunting to embark on a journey with a therapist. Mental health care can be full of stigmatizing diagnoses, confusing treatment acronyms and terribly impersonal. My approach to therapy counters that narrative. Good therapy first and foremost is a trusting relationship. It should also be accessible, relevant and inclusive.

Being therapist in private practice, I don’t need to diagnose you for you to get service; I work with you to decide what you need to work on, and for how long and how often.  I also tailor my approaches to your style and personality. Treatment looks different for everybody.

When finding a therapist, I always say go with the feeling you have when talking to them. You won’t get much done if you don’t trust or feel safe with your therapist. Every personality is different so it is important to find a good fit for you. I am happy to offer a free 20 minute consultation before determining if you would like to pursue therapy with me.

Clients

I am LGBQIA+ and Transgender, and Gender Non-binary affirming.

I welcome all people and identities into my practice. I believe we exist in a complex society where sometimes it can be difficult to live out the identities that feel most true to ourselves. It can also be difficult to discover what living our own truth means.

Our mental health does not develop in a vacuum. Social, cultural and economic systems of oppression and privilege impact how we feel about ourselves and how we function. I take a holistic approach to mental health, and incorporate feminist and multicultural approaches to therapy. I aim to make my therapeutic environment a safe place to explore your different intersecting identities or just be in an affirming therapy environment.

I am LGBQIA+ and Transgender, and Gender Non-binary affirming.
